Microcurrent Facials

Microcurrent is known to be the one of most effective non-surgical method to take years off the face.

Microcurrent is a very popular anti aging skin treatment used to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by improving texture and appearance of skin and reducing the overall visual appearance of aging. Skin care therapists use microcurrent to tone and firm the skin. Muscle re-education is mostly related to the term “facial toning”. Microcurrent will reprogram the muscle fiber. It has been used by alternative medicine practitioners and physicians to treat a broad array of injuries, wounds, soft tissue and bone fracture for more then a century.

What is microcurrent?

It is a gentle electrical stimulation that triggers the body’s natural skin enhancement chemicals at a cellular level. Clinical studies have shown that after twenty days of treatment collagen production increases by 14%, elastin increases by 48%, and blood circulation increases by 38%. Scientists have also found that microcurrent facelift treatments trigger the body’s production of amino acids and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which accelerate cell repair and promote healthier cell production.

Microcurrent is a low level of electrical current that mirrors body’s own natural current, which is sub sensory in most causes and therefore barely noticeable. A good comparison of how low microcurrent is: it would take one million microcurrent machines to light a 40 watt light bulb. It is difficult for the sensory nerves receptors to be stimulated by such low current. Microcurrent uses microamps (uA); there are 1,000 microamps in a milliamp (mA). True Microrrent uses less than 500 microamps.

Since you are re-educating the muscle tissue, it is crucial that you receive a series of treatments for results to reach their maximum potential. Once a series is completed, the results can be maintained by by coming in every 4-8 weeks for maintenance treatments. Additionally, a series can be repeated every few years. If the full series of treatments is completed and maintenance sessions are continued on a monthly basis, results should last 3-4 years.

Younger clients can seek a microcurrent facelift to prevent some of the aesthetic effects of aging. Older clients will minimize lines, wrinkles, and improve skin tone and texture. It is known as the red Carpet treatment, the lunchtime lift for its immediate results and no downtime. It is the most effective treatment before any important event.

Microcurrent is used by estheticians to deliver a variety of benefits to clients expecting to attain a healthier, younger looking appearance. Results are immediately seen after the first application and continue to improve with each subsequent application. It has cumulative effect.

Microcurrent is performed to achieve the following:

  • Improve muscle tone in face and neck

  • Sculpt and lift facial and neck muscles

  • Increase product penetration

  • Reduce wrinkles and fine lines

  • Improve facial circulation

  • Energize cells and restore youthful glow

Microcurrent and injectables

Utilizing both technologies maximize the end result. Fillers give a quick and effective “filling ” effect, diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. However they do nothing for muscle contour, natural collagen or elastin production, all of which are addressed with microcurrent. Many doctors find it necessary to sculpt and contour the muscles of the face to maximize and complete the effect of fillers.

Recommended microcurrent treatment after Botox and fillers is 2 weeks after. A lot of clients and doctors see prolonged effects of Botox when using in conjunction with microcurrent. Because of healing properties that microcurrent possess, it also is recognized as the tool of choice by surgeons for pre and post-op applications.
